The unforgetable ride home

Today I was released from the hospital to take Russell home. I have decided they release you right when you feel the worst. So, I was feeling pretty terrible when it was time to pack up. To make things worse, during my stay my flip flop broke, and I asked mom to bring me other shoes but she forgot. Luckily they wheel you out in a chair otherwise I would have had to leave the hospital barefoot. (I thought it was barefoot and pregnant, not barefoot with baby). The nurse wheeled me out and BK brought Casper around. We loaded up, and realized the baby car seat really doesn't fit. (we really need a new car). I fell asleep in the car ride home. Suddenly I was awakened by a load thud! Oh crapper! The hood had flown up and cracked the windshield. Fortunately, there is no traffic in Rochester, and we could see through the crack in where the hood connects to the car. Do you think that is why they make hoods connect like that? We made it to the shoulder where BK realized we had no supplies. Fortunately BK is innovative and used his shoelace to tie the hood down. We eased off the freeway and parked in the Chili's parking lot. Mom arrived with Quint to rescue us. It was not funny at the time but we knew it would be later, so we took pictures. While we were waiting for mom, I was walking around the car barefoot trying to help BK. It was a sorry situation, but one we are not likely to forget! Who ever said the second child was not as memorable must be lying. It was the most memorable ride home from the hospital we ever had!
