And then there were four

Today we became a family of four. Eight days late but totally worth the wait! Russell Robert Richardson was born at 12:09 pm and weighed in at 9 lbs measuring 23 inches. We went in last night around 11 pm. I was expecting to deliver in a few hours just like Quint. But, this was our first lesson that children are never the same. Russell was cozy in there and took his time coming out. Finally around 11:45 am it was time to push. The doctor had told us there was muconiam in the water so the neonatal was needed. As soon as Russell popped out they took swift action to clear his airway. It was scary but I was full of relief when they said the airway was clear and the neonatal crew left. Our nurse said "they are bored with healthy babies". I could not be happier that they were gone. BK could not catch Russell or cut the cord because of this complication which was a bummer. But, Russell was a happy, healthy baby and we are so thrilled to be a family of four. Some highlights: Bev our first nurse with the funny giggle, getting a tour of BK's work while we waited for labor to progress, the epidural, meeting Russell, and his cute finger toes!
